MHF4U Advanced Functions (Grade 12) – Small Group Program
Structured support for students who want high performance — not just passing. This is a supplemental program. We do not provide course credit.
Our MHF4U Advanced Functions program Ontario is designed for Grade 12 students who want structured support, deeper understanding, and strong exam performance.
This is not tutoring. Students follow a clear weekly system focused on problem-solving, consistency, and results.
MHF4U Advanced Functions Program (Ontario Curriculum)
Our MHF4U Advanced Functions program Ontario is designed for Grade 12 students who want structured support and strong exam performance. The structure is designed based on Ontario curriculum.
Prerequisites Co
- Completed MCR3U – Functions (Grade 11)
- Strong algebra skills (factoring, solving equations, graphing)
- Comfort with independent problem-solving
Who This Program Is For
Add this:
- Students aiming for 85%+ grades
- Students preparing for MCV4U (Calculus and Vectors)
- Students willing to follow a structured system
Who This Is NOT For
- Last-minute cramming
- Passive learning
- Students unwilling to practice
Course Overview
Advanced Functions is one of the most important Grade 12 courses, forming the foundation for calculus and many university programs. Most students struggle not because the material is impossible, but because they lack structure and consistent practice.
Students will master advanced function concepts including:
- Polynomial, rational, logarithmic, and exponential functions
- Function transformations and inverses
- Complex problem-solving and multi-step reasoning
This is not a memorization-based course. It is designed to develop mathematical thinking, precision, and problem-solving under exam conditions.
Instructor
This course is taught by a PhD in Physics with over 30 years of teaching experience across high school and university-level mathematics.
He has trained students who have gone on to top institutions and high-level careers, with a teaching approach built on:
- Deep conceptual understanding (not memorization)
- Structured problem-solving systems
- Proven exam preparation strategies
His focus is simple: students don’t just pass—they perform at a high level under pressure.
What We Expect from Students
- Consistent weekly work (non-negotiable)
- Active participation in problem-solving
- Completion of assignments and corrections
- Accountability for progress
Students who treat this casually will fall behind. This course requires discipline.
Path to Success (Our Method)
- Structured Weekly System
Concept → application → advanced problems → testing - Small Cohort Learning (6–12 students)
No passive learning. Every student is engaged - Exam Level Training
Focus on difficult questions, not basic repetition - Continuous Feedback
Weak areas identified and corrected weekly
Outcome
By the end of this course, students are prepared to:
- Achieve high grades in MHF4U
- Transition confidently into MCV4U (Calculus and Vectors)
- Handle university-level math expectations

This MHF4U Advanced Functions program follows the Ontario curriculum and supports students preparing for university programs in business, science, and engineering. Our small-group approach ensures consistent progress, accountability, and strong academic performance.
Next Step
MHF4U is the foundation for calculus. Weak fundamentals here will carry into MCV4U.
